Hello, my name is Javier Hernandez Pedrosa, medical doctor specialist in psychiatry, Psychiatry today is about breaking with the prejudices and stigma that our profession has carried for years, our work consists of promoting the Mental Health , prevent the disease and treat it if it occurs.
It is medicine and therefore based on science, but in our field the human factor is very important: listening, analysing, empathising, is just as fundamental as medication in the treatment of a patient, so I believe that we must break down prejudices when it comes to seeing a psychiatrist, and if we need help, we must take care of our mental health just as we take care of our physical health.
